Did you know you can lock specific parts of a Word document, like words, paragraphs, tables, or entire sections? Using Word’s ‘Restrict Editing’ feature allows you to control what content can be edited while keeping the rest of the document content intact.

In the example above – a Word template we created for Sydney marketing agency Make It Happen – we locked most of the content except for the areas highlighted in yellow which were left editable. This ensured that boilerplate text and table formatting remained consistent throughout the document while allowing customisation where necessary. ‘Restricting Editing’ is a smart way to maintain control over important documents.
