How to change the date format in Word

Changing the date format in Word is easy. You just need to know where to find it on the Developer tab.

(If the Developer tab is not visible in Word, click this link How to see the Developer tab in Word for help.)

If you want to change the date format, e.g. from ’10 April 2017’ to ‘10/04/17’:

  • Click on the date text.
  • Go to the Developer tab and select Properties. (See Activate the Developer Tab if you can’t see the Developer tab.)

The Content Control Properties dialog box appears.

  • Under Date Picker Properties, you can enter your own format or choose one from the list.
  • Click OK
