How to change the colours in a PowerPoint template

Changing one or more colours in a PowerPoint template colour palette or creating a new palette is easy.

Every PowerPoint template utilises a built-in Microsoft Office colour palette. To change the colour palette:

  • On the Design tab, click the drop-down arrow button on the Variants group.

Expand the Variants Menu to display colours and font options.

  • Inside the Variants menu, click the Colors button to display the available colour palettes. In this example, the applied colour palette is Green.

  • Click on another palette and the template elements – text and graphics – will reflect the newly-applied palette (Orange in this example).
